Key Job Duties

Helping Individuals: You will assist and encourage individuals with intellectual disabilities to engage in daily tasks such as getting ready, eating, and changing clothes. You’ll be respectful and always consider their feelings.

Engagement: You’ll help individuals participate in socialization and community activities.

Help: You’ll provide help to individuals by planning meals, serving food, and engaging in normal daily activities.

Taking Medicines: You’ll remind and help the individuals take their medicines safely and as prescribed.

Documentation: It’s important to keep accurate notes about what happens throughout each day; like what they did, how they felt, and any special events.

Working Together: You’ll work closely with a team of people who also care for the individuals, like doctors and family members, to make sure everyone helps in the best way toward a common goal.

Handling Emergencies: If something unexpected happens, you’ll know what to do to keep the individual safe and get them help.

 

Skills You’ll Need or Learn

Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. If you’ve taken classes about helping people, that is a bonus.

Experience: It’s helpful if you’ve worked with people with disabilities before, but if not, we can train you.

Being Understanding: You must show that you care and be patient with the individuals we support.

First-Aid/CPR Training: You’ll learn first aid and CPR so that you can help someone in an emergency.

 

Other Requirements

  • Full-time, part-time, and PRN (as needed) positions available!
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
  • Current, unrestricted Oklahoma driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance (Preferred)
  • We’ll train you in extra classes and in-services as required.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 to 50 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $11.00 – $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week.
